Job Summary
The role of the Medical Assistant in a per diem Urgent Care setting is crucial for providing efficient patient care and support. This position demands a proactive individual equipped with the necessary skills to assist healthcare professionals while ensuring a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Support healthcare providers in patient assessment and treatment procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness and functionality of medical equipment.
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking patient histories and vital signs.
- Assist with administrative duties including patient scheduling and maintaining medical records.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients and medical staff.
- Monitor inventory and assist in the management of medical supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical assistant training preferred.
- Certification from an accredited medical assistant program is advantageous.
- Previous experience in an urgent care or similar healthcare environment is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and practices.
