Job Summary
The position involves performing essential laboratory tasks including venipuncture and specimen collection, while also supporting various administrative functions such as order entry and patient registration. The role is vital in ensuring efficient testing and processing of specimens, alongside maintaining equipment and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out venipuncture and skin punctures for specimen collection.
- Support order entry, billing processes, and patient registration.
- Conduct waived testing and set up laboratory equipment as necessary.
- Load specimens onto instruments and perform necessary maintenance and calibration.
- Ensure quality control procedures are adhered to within the laboratory.
- Manage various office tasks while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma is essential.
- BLS/CPR certification is required.
- Experience in phlebotomy is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work 40 hours weekly on the second shift, including weekdays and Saturdays, with responsibilities for holiday and on-call rotation.
