Job Summary
The role of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) involves providing essential support to licensed physical therapists in rehabilitation settings. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of physical therapy treatments as directed by the physical therapist.
- Monitor and document patient progress, and make necessary adjustments in coordination with the therapy team.
- Educate patients and their families on therapy exercises and techniques to promote recovery.
- Ensure the cleanliness and functionality of therapy equipment and facilities.
- Maintain patient records and adhere to regulatory compliance standards.
- Participate in continuing education to enhance professional knowledge and skills in physical therapy practices.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Proficiency in the use of rehabilitation equipment and technology.
