Job Summary
This position involves providing comprehensive onsite care for healthy newborns during 24-hour shifts, which includes daytime coverage and the ability to address nurse clinical inquiries during overnight on-call periods. The pediatrician will play a key role in coordinating discharge plans through daily meetings with interdisciplinary teams, including obstetrics and social work, and will also support or evaluate NICU cases as required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver onsite care for well newborns across 24-hour shifts.
- Be available for off-site on-call assistance regarding clinical questions overnight.
- Facilitate discharge planning through daily interdisciplinary discussions.
- Collaborate with obstetrics and social work teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide support and evaluations for NICU as necessary.
Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible pediatricians.
- Experience in rounding on newborns is essential.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered and team-based care.
- Interest in clinical excellence and quality improvement initiatives.
