Job Summary

The Plant Leader is accountable for all functions within a continuous manufacturing site, based in Minneapolis, MN. This role encompasses a comprehensive oversight of safety, environmental standards, quality assurance, maintenance operations, employee engagement, budgeting, recruitment and training processes, and the evaluation of production metrics. The Plant Leader must liaise with remote senior management to maintain alignment with corporate objectives while leading a diverse workforce of over 130 employees, including 6 direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an inclusive work culture that aligns with the company’s mission and values.
  • Create and drive the plant’s strategic vision, establish annual objectives, and oversee capital investment plans.
  • Identify and nurture talent at various levels to cultivate future leaders.
  • Implement succession plans for both salaried and hourly positions.
  • Promote a loss prevention mindset through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), focusing on ongoing improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Facilitate seamless coordination among all plant operations, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and champion sustainability efforts.
  • Build the company’s presence in the local community through active engagement in business initiatives.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and address service quality issues efficiently.
  • Lead operations to enhance employee commitment and investment in organizational goals.
  • Oversee budget controls and seek methods to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in product and service quality.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance teams aimed at operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline is essential.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in plant management or manufacturing is required.
  • Experience in a continuous manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.
  • Proven capability in managing a workforce exceeding 130 employees within a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices is advantageous.
