Job description
The Prior Authorization Specialist plays a key role in processing and initiating requests for medication authorizations, working closely with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and insurance carriers. This position involves managing the clinical and financial considerations linked to securing insurance precertification or authorization, ensuring that the needs of patients are effectively addressed. Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED, along with a minimum of one year of experience in a clinical or medical insurance environment. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft applications and maintain a typing speed of no less than 35 words per minute.
