Project Engineer
Salary Range: $72k-95k annually
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia (On-Site)
Job Overview for Project Engineer
The Project Engineer plays an active role in the planning, organization, and execution of water infrastructure construction projects directly from the jobsite. This position ensures that daily operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and adhere to project timelines. Key responsibilities include coordinating project activities, sourcing materials and subcontractor services, managing vendor relations, and collaborating with engineers, field teams, and project stakeholders.
Daily Responsibilities of the Project Engineer
- Oversee the planning and daily execution of project operations.
- Acquire, manage, and coordinate materials from vendors and subcontractor work packages.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with engineers, managers, tradespeople, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Pursue opportunities for personal development and mentorship from industry experts.
Qualifications for Project Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for participating in Water Infrastructure Construction.
