Project Manager Overview:
As a Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving the effective planning, coordination, and implementation of various architectural projects concurrently. This role necessitates that you are a licensed architect with robust leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational prowess. You will be responsible for guiding project teams, nurturing client relationships, steering technical developments, and ensuring that projects meet deadlines, remain within budget constraints, and comply with the firm’s quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities of Project Manager:
- Oversee and manage a project team of 2–5 architects and designers across multiple ongoing projects.
- Craft and present project proposals and scopes of work.
- Collaborate closely with clients, Project Architects, engineers, and consultants to create and adhere to project timelines.
- Supervise overall project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to achieve desired outcomes.
- Manage project budgets and financial oversight, including cost tracking and invoice approval.
- Guide design direction to ensure project visions align with both client expectations and firm standards.
- Lead project documentation efforts, ensuring all materials are thorough, precise, and compliant with regulations.
- Coordinate daily project management activities, including liaising with engineers, addressing municipal feedback, and overseeing permitting tasks.
- Foster and maintain solid client relationships through regular communication, dedicated service, and prompt issue resolution.
- Ensure project quality, accuracy, and compliance throughout each phase.
- Administer consultant and vendor contracts in line with firm standards and project needs.
- Engage in staff scheduling and resource allocation to ensure equitable project distributions.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff to enhance their professional growth and project contributions.
- Participate in industry events, representing the firm within the professional landscape.
- Engagement in community outreach activities is encouraged.
Project Manager Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in the architectural field.
- Required to be a licensed or registered architect.
- Proven track record of successfully leading multiple project teams and cultivating robust client relationships.
- Experience in developing and managing project timelines and budgets is essential.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational capabilities.
- Technical knowledge of relevant architectural and project management tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Capacity to inspire and lead teams, tackle challenges, and guide decision-making processes.
Preferred Qualifications for Project Manager:
- Active involvement in professional organizations such as AIA, NCARB, or local design communities.
- Experience with community service or volunteer initiatives is a plus.
