Job Summary
The Psych RN position is designed for a registered nurse specializing in mental health, who plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients experiencing psychological challenges. This role requires a strong focus on patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with interprofessional teams to ensure optimal mental health support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ mental health status.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to patient needs.
- Administer medications and monitor their effects on patients.
- Provide therapeutic communication and support to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and treatments.
- Participate in staff training and continuous professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in psychiatric nursing or related mental health field.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
- Current CPR and basic life support certifications.
