Job Summary
The role of a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Psych RN) involves providing comprehensive nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health issues. The Psych RN will work in a collaborative environment, ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and treatment tailored to their specific psychiatric needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ mental health conditions and emotional wellbeing.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in conjunction with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatment protocols as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide therapeutic support and engage in effective communication with patients.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with a specialization in psychiatry.
- Proven experience in mental health nursing or related clinical fields.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Keen observational skills and capacity to assess psychological states effectively.
