Job Summary
The Quality Technical Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing, developing, and sustaining quality systems (ISO 9001), environmental standards (ISO 14001), LEAN methodologies, safety protocols, and ongoing improvements within a manufacturing context. This position collaborates with both internal departments and external partners to pinpoint and address quality-related manufacturing and efficiency challenges, ensuring that corrective actions are effectively executed and promptly implemented to minimize production waste and elevate product quality.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the attainment of key performance metrics, such as quality, safety, environmental standards, productivity, lean practices, cost control, and employee development through process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and assist in the implementation of quality, environmental, and safety procedures and training materials, including reviewing and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
- Adhere to the existing Document Control framework.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures for non-conformities and process-related issues, covering customer, supplier, and internal processes.
- Utilize process improvement methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC), process mapping, and lean practices.
- Collaborate with customer and supplier Quality teams to align operational requirements and performance standards.
- Lead and support internal and supplier development initiatives, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained.
- Review and provide approval for documentation related to initial sample submissions, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external audit processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in an engineering-related discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Production, Lean principles, and/or Engineering within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Strong presentation skills for effectively sharing data, methodologies, findings, and remediation strategies with varied internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with manufacturing audits, particularly ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 training, is a plus.
- Proficient in technical writing for SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Project management capabilities, including defining project scopes, specifications, schedules, and deliverables.
- Experience within a manufacturing setting is beneficial.
- Relevant training may include certifications in ISO 9001/14001, internal auditing, Lean/5S, Six Sigma, SPC, and familiarity with MS Office and SAP Business One.
