Job description
Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering precise radiation treatments to patients as advised by radiation oncologists. They ensure accurate performance of radiation therapy plans and assist in maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy to patients according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions to address any issues or discomfort.
- Document treatment data and maintain accurate records for each patient.
- Maintain and operate radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment processes.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Radiation Therapist.
- Completed an accredited radiation therapy training program.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and radiation oncology practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare environment.
