Job Summary
The Med Surg/Tele Nurse plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care in a medical surgical and telemetry environment. This position involves monitoring patients’ vital signs, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient outcomes. The nurse will work on various tasks that enrich the patient recovery experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs continuously.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health maintenance.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided in the electronic health record.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies while maintaining calmness and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in a Med Surg or Telemetry nursing setting is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Proficiency with patient monitoring equipment and electronic medical records.
