Repair Engineer
Beltsville, MD
$49/hour The Repair Engineer will collaborate with a cross-functional High Performance Work Team to deliver key business and financial results. In this role, you’ll focus on developing innovative repair solutions for the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organization. Create component drawings, coordinate with the procurement team to source suppliers rapidly, and partner with operations to implement and deliver new repair schemes efficiently.
Repair Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an understanding of regulatory processes, certification requirements, and approval procedures applicable to Aerospace Repair Stations.
  • Develop and document repair processes and technical procedures that comply with customer quality specifications and both internal and industry Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Frequently and proactively communicate with internal and external customers on related technical inquiries.
  • Support the review and approval process for internal process documentation to ensure alignment with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret and apply government regulations, orders, and advisory circulars relevant to repair station operations.
  • Actively support the daily production execution as a member of the High-Performance Work Team by providing technical support related to repair procedures and product design, and training production employees as needed.
  • Support audits from customers, regulatory agencies, and third-party organizations, and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions.

Repair Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of experience in an aerospace MRO/aftermarket repair station manufacturing environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Technical Writing
  • Experience with Quality requirements for a Part 145 Repair station.
  • Experience interpreting Government requirements, FAA Advisory circulars, and The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR(s))
