Respiratory Therapist – Full Time Nights

Job Summary

This role involves delivering respiratory care services throughout various hospital departments. It encompasses activities such as managing mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper airway function, facilitating oxygen delivery, monitoring patients’ respiratory health, and executing emergency interventions as necessary. The position also focuses on maintaining accurate documentation, educating patients and their families, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care including mechanical ventilation and airway management.
• Administer oxygen therapy and monitor patients’ respiratory status.
• Execute emergency respiratory interventions when required.
• Document all care provided and related outcomes thoroughly.
• Educate patients and their families about respiratory care and management.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team for integrated patient care.
• Participate in patient rounds and mobility activities.
• Engage in training and educational activities for staff development.

Qualifications

• Completion of respiratory therapy education sufficient to obtain National Board for Respiratory Care credentials.
• Possession of a current state respiratory therapy license.
• Current certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Preferred one year of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to respond effectively during emergencies.
• Strong communication skills and capacity to provide appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.
