Job description

Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients as needed, often on a per diem basis. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive respiratory therapy while ensuring patient comfort and safety through professional treatment methods.

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Document patient responses to therapies and treatments accurately.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding respiratory care.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and potentially other relevant credentials.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care practices and protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
