Job Summary
The RN Cardiac Cath Pre/Post role entails providing exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures. This position involves both preoperative and postoperative responsibilities, ensuring that patients are safe, comfortable, and well-informed throughout their journey in the catheterization lab.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-assessments and evaluations of patients scheduled for cardiac catheterization.
- Administer necessary medications and prepare patients for the procedure.
- Monitor patients closely during and after the catheterization, observing vital signs and managing any complications that may arise.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure, recovery expectations, and post-procedural care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in cardiac nursing or related field is preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and healthcare teams.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification are required.
