Job Summary
The RN Emergency Department position is a critical role responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care within the fast-paced environment of the emergency room. This role demands quick decision-making and a strong ability to assess, prioritize, and respond to the diverse healthcare needs of patients presenting in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and evaluations to identify immediate healthcare needs.
- Implement appropriate nursing interventions based on critical thinking and evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide patient education and support to families regarding treatment plans and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities to enhance nursing skills.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Previous emergency nursing experience is advantageous.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, dynamic environment.
