Job Summary

The RN Emergency Department position is pivotal in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The registered nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for diverse patient populations experiencing acute medical conditions. Emphasizing critical thinking and rapid decision-making, this role requires collaboration with healthcare team members to enhance patient outcomes and ensure efficient department operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients upon arrival in the emergency department.
• Develop and execute individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
• Monitor and document patient progress, maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding care plans and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams for holistic patient management.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment within the emergency department.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, employing life-saving techniques when necessary.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Proven experience in an acute care or emergency nursing setting is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
• Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining composure.
