Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room plays a crucial role in providing immediate care to patients experiencing urgent medical issues. This vital position involves assessing, triaging, and managing a diverse range of health conditions in a fast-paced environment where decisions must be made swiftly to ensure patient safety and effective treatment.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessment and accurately triage medical emergencies.
- Administer nursing care and medications as prescribed, monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to formulate and implement care plans.
- Document all patient interactions and interventions thoroughly in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support during emergency situations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in the ER, adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Clinical experience in an emergency care setting is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is also beneficial.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
