Job Summary
The St. John Medical Center is currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) who will work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during the night shifts. This role is vital in providing exceptional patient care and support in a high-intensity environment, focusing on critically ill patients who require consistent monitoring and advanced medical attention.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to monitor vital signs and identify any changes in their condition.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding care processes.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting observations and care provided.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and prioritize tasks effectively throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in critical care or an acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all stakeholders.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; additional certifications may be a plus.
