Job Summary
The RN specializing in Orthopedic Surgery will execute nursing practices focusing on patients undergoing orthopedic procedures, mainly during weekend shifts. This role involves close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient care and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients’ health status before, during, and after orthopedic surgeries.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous therapies as prescribed.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care.
- Assist in surgical procedures and ensure a sterile environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the relevant state.
- Previous experience in orthopedic nursing or a surgical unit preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
