Job Summary
The RN – Surgery position is integral to the surgical team, focusing on providing exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role demands proficiency in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care, ensuring that all surgical operations are conducted safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Deliver attentive care to surgical patients during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor patients’ conditions, administering medications and interventions as instructed.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and safeguard a sterile environment during procedures.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and recovery processes.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and certification in the state of practice.
- Experience in perioperative nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient care standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
