Sales Representative
Location: Solon, OH
Compensation: $100,000 Annually
The Sales Representative is tasked with ensuring optimal sales profitability, fostering growth, and enhancing account engagement within a designated territory and/or market segment by proficiently promoting the company’s offerings.
Key Responsibilities of the Sales Representative:
- Develop and nurture business relationships with both existing and potential clients in the assigned territory/market segment, aimed at generating new business for the company’s products and services.
- Conduct phone calls and arrange face-to-face meetings and presentations to connect with current and prospective customers.
- Identify and research potential customers and gather relevant information to assess their needs.
- Create clear and compelling proposals and quotations for clients, both current and prospective.
- Monitor monthly and annual sales metrics; analyze trends and historical data on customer sales and products.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to formulate an annual business plan outlining strategies and activities designed to meet or surpass sales targets.
- Strategically plan and organize personal sales efforts to maximize Return on Time Investment within the assigned territory/segment.
- Provide management with regular updates, both verbally and in writing, on customer requirements, challenges, interests, competitive landscape, and opportunities for new offerings.
- Keep management informed of sales activities through consistent reporting.
- Promptly address and resolve customer issues and complaints.
- Stay informed about product applications, technical support, market dynamics, competition, advertising, and promotional trends through relevant literature and engagement with marketing and technical support teams.
- Advise on potential enhancements to products, services, and policies by assessing results and competitive movements.
- Assist in crafting annual marketing strategies and support the creation of marketing materials and promotional activities.
- Engage in industry trade shows and conventions.
- Maintain comprehensive customer data in ACT software.
- Contribute to team objectives as required.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements for the Sales Representative:
- Proven problem-solving skills with a consultative sales approach.
- Capability to establish strong relationships with clients while understanding their business needs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for diverse interactions including emails, calls, and trade shows.
- Skilled in making sound scheduling decisions for customer visits to optimize time and resources.
- Results-driven with the ability to function independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contact management systems.
- Experience in collaborating with manufacturing firms is advantageous.
- Strong aptitude for mathematics.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel as required.

- Familiarity with Sage/MAS, Act, Constant Contact, or related ERP software is a plus.

Education and Experience for the Sales Representative:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, including managerial capabilities.
Job Training and Experience: 3 to 5 years of sales experience, with a preference for knowledge in non-ferrous metals.
