Sanitation Supervisor
Cleveland, OH
$58,000 – $68,000 DOE
2nd Shift Tuesday – Saturday
Role Overview:
As the Sanitation Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing sanitation processes within the plant to ensure adherence to all relevant company policies and regulatory standards at the municipal, state, and federal levels. You will lead a dedicated team of 10-20 sanitation staff, providing them with training, support, and guidance, while maintaining exemplary sanitation standards in line with food industry best practices. Additionally, you will promote a culture centered on safety and operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities:
- Equipment Safety and Maintenance:
- Quickly report any equipment issues to the maintenance team.
- Identify, secure, or report any missing or improperly installed machine safeguards.
- Ensure accurate reporting of accidents and safety incidents per company policies and regulatory standards.
- Team Leadership and Training:
- Oversee daily activities of sanitation staff to ensure tasks are completed timely while adhering to safety and quality requirements.
- Evaluate daily work results and confirm sanitary conditions are met.
- Implement disciplinary measures as necessary, following company, union, and regulatory policies.
- Facilitate training and development opportunities for team members.
- Assist in conducting evaluations and addressing any employee-related concerns.
- Scheduling and Regulatory Adherence:
- Manage requests for vacation and personal time, ensuring coverage is maintained without compromising operations.
- Help maintain health documentation for staff in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support the supervision of attendance and the enforcement of company policies.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Guarantee sanitation procedures align with all applicable company, union, municipal, state, and federal regulations.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety protocols, and HACCP standards.
- Work in conjunction with other supervisors to ensure seamless operations.
Additional duties may be assigned as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in sanitation or food safety.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Paycor is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to extended or flexible hours, including weekends, based on business requirements.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Eager to acquire new skills.
- Strong mechanical or technical aptitude.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift and transport items weighing up to and including 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Manual dexterity needed to operate tools, machinery, and controls.
- Willingness to work in high-heat or low-temperature environments.
