**MES / SCADA Engineer
San Antonio, TX
$65/HR to $70/HR**
**Position Summary**
We are in search of a Senior MES/SCADA Engineer who possesses robust hands-on expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. This position is tailored for a Manufacturing Engineer with extensive experience in process setup, system integration, and deployment in high-capacity manufacturing environments.
The preferred candidate will have refined engineering skills that enable them to configure, implement, sustain, and enhance MES/SCADA systems at the plant level. They will also play a crucial role in facilitating new product launches and supporting continuous operational enhancements.
**Primary Responsibilities**
– Oversee cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines are met while resolving technical challenges.
– Lead the configuration alterations and system rollouts for MES across the facility.
– Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives that involve MES setup.
– Configure, implement, support, and optimize existing MES/SCADA systems.
– Design and execute training plans for new workflows and system modifications.
– Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, specifications, and technical papers.
– Organize pilot projects and address implementation issues until resolved.
– Document and report on updates occurring in MES and system configurations.
– Engage in changes associated with the MRE system.
– Update management on project progress during regular reviews and manage escalation protocols when needed.
– Establish, monitor, manage, and report on MES budgets (for both capital and operational expenses).
– Facilitate design reviews with vendors, designers, and other stakeholders.
– Support Manufacturing Engineers and Project Managers in various project phases.
– Adjust to diverse project requirements and collaborate across departments to achieve organizational goals.
**Essential Qualifications**
– Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
– At least 5 years of manufacturing experience with a proven track record of leading projects and establishing new processes.
– Hands-on expertise with MES and/or SCADA systems is essential.
– Familiarity with system integrations in manufacturing settings.
– Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office and engineering tools (e.g., Minitab, MATLAB, or similar).
– Experience with SQL Server, including skills in data validation queries.
– Knowledge of ERP systems and simulation software.
– Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and handle vendor negotiations.
– Strong leadership abilities, including supervising engineering teams and overseeing projects.
– Experience managing project schedules, resources, and financials.
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
– Capacity to work autonomously and juggle multiple projects at once.
– Preferred experience in automotive, truck manufacturing, or other high-volume world-class manufacturing industries.
