Job description
The Materials Processing Specialist plays a key role in the inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and procedural trays utilized across different hospital departments. This position involves operating sterilization machinery, executing decontamination methods, and keeping precise inventory records for surgical materials. Candidates are required to have a minimum of one year of post-secondary education along with one year of relevant experience in materials processing. While certification as a Registered Central Sterile Processing Distribution Technician is desirable, successful applicants must secure specific central service technician qualifications within eighteen months of their employment.
