Job Summary
The Senior Cost Accountant plays a pivotal role in the financial health of the organization by overseeing the accuracy of costs related to products and inventory, ensuring they are correctly reported in the financial statements. This position demands a deep understanding of various costing methodologies and the establishment of effective controls to manage costs efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and verify the costing of inventory and products for financial accuracy.
- Implement and maintain costing methods and control measures.
- Prepare and support internal and external financial audits.
- Manage and report on cost changes resulting from engineering change orders (ECOs) or modifications in operating procedures.
- Generate reports that reflect the financial status related to cost accounting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cost accounting or a similar financial role.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in financial reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with different teams.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and relevant accounting software.
