Senior Design Engineer
Cleveland, OH
Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for designing custom gearing and enclosed gear units, performing gear geometry calculations, and preparing detailed drawings and BOMs for manufacturing. This role requires a strong background in gearing, proficiency in CAD tools like AutoCAD and ProE, and the ability to interface directly with customers and sales teams. Senior Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop custom gear designs and enclosed gear drive systems
- Create detailed dimensional layouts for manufacturing
- Calculate gear geometry and performance ratings
- Perform bearing life and load capacity analyses
- Use AutoCAD and ProE to generate design models and technical drawings
- Produce shop-ready drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Reverse engineer existing gearboxes for overhaul or replication
- Collaborate with customers and sales teams to define product requirements and ensure design alignment
Senior Design Engineer Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree (required)
- Experience with Creo and Proe (required)
- Experience with KISSsoft (preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of hands on experience
