Job Summary
The Swine Biologicals group within Global Biologics at Zoetis Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD) in Kalamazoo, MI, is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist with expertise in virology and molecular biology. This role is pivotal in advancing the research and development of biologicals aimed at enhancing swine health and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative research projects focused on virology and molecular biology related to swine.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of vaccine candidates and other biological products.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to drive scientific advancements.
- Prepare and present findings in both internal meetings and external conferences.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest scientific literature and technologies pertinent to swine health.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Virology, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with relevant postdoctoral experience.
- Proven track record of research accomplishments in virology or molecular biology.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data interpretation and experimental design.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration and presentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for improving animal health and welfare through scientific research.
