Job Summary
The SPD Supervisor will oversee and manage the Sterile Processing Department’s daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facilitating effective service delivery. This role entails directing staff and enhancing workflow processes to meet the needs of surgical services within the healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and manage departmental functions to ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate the cleaning, sterilizing, and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and facilitate timely reordering of supplies.
- Provide training and support for department staff to enhance their skills and efficiency.
- Implement and oversee quality control measures to improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare or management is preferred.
- Experience in sterile processing, along with supervisory or leadership experience.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection prevention practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
