Job Summary
The primary function of this role involves the collection and preparation of biological specimens at client locations. This encompasses ensuring the samples are intact, managing accurate requisitions, proper labeling, and the secure shipment of specimens. The position demands meticulous record-keeping, insurance verification, and payment collection when necessary, alongside effective communication with clients and sales personnel. Adherence to compliance, safety regulations, and continuous process improvement are crucial components of the job.
Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare biological specimens at client locations.
- Ensure sample integrity and manage accurate requisitions and labeling.
- Oversee secure shipment of biological specimens.
- Maintain comprehensive records and verify client insurance details.
- Facilitate payment collection when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with clients and sales managers.
- Adhere to compliance, safety, and process improvement processes.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or a minimum of three years of blood collection experience.
- State certification where required.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and basic computer skills.
- Capability to perform efficiently while ensuring confidentiality.
- Experience in the medical field is preferred.
