Job Summary
The Stress Testing Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in evaluating patients undergoing stress tests as part of their cardiovascular assessments. This position involves working collaboratively with healthcare teams to prepare patients, monitor their condition during tests, and provide essential care and support. The RN will ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the testing process while adhering to established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for stress testing procedures, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition throughout the testing process to ensure their safety.
- Assist in the administration of stress tests, which may include exercise protocols or pharmacological agents as required.
- Document test results and observations accurately in patient records to facilitate assessment by the physician.
- Respond promptly to any changes in patient status during the stress test, implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
- Provide post-test care and education to patients, ensuring they understand their results and follow-up procedures.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in the practicing state.
- Experience in cardiovascular nursing or related areas is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of stress testing protocols and cardiac monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations with composure and professionalism.
