Supplier Recovery Specialist

Job description

Job Summary

The Supplier Recovery Specialist is responsible for driving the continuous improvement initiatives and addressing quality concerns with suppliers. This role also involves monitoring supplier performance against established contractual commitments, scorecards, and key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to resolve major supplier delivery issues and establish governance and reporting frameworks while conducting thorough investigations to identify constraints and assist suppliers in resolving challenges.
  • Participate in on-site supplier audits and coordinate these activities with a cross-functional team to evaluate product quality and suitability.
  • Oversee recovery initiatives and risk mitigation strategies at supplier locations across the country.
  • Initiate and manage vendor quality enhancements, which includes assessing process capabilities, tracking deliveries, and reporting on supplier performance.
  • Implement Supplier Recovery strategies through various assessments, training, and enhancements aimed at improving quality, delivery, capacity, and reducing lead times.
  • Lead cross-functional teams focused on enhancing on-time delivery rates, reducing variability, and managing sub-tier suppliers effectively.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and propose corrective actions to facilitate effective resolution of identified issues.
  • Engage with multiple organizational levels, suppliers, and customers to discuss supplier performance and related improvement initiatives; prepared to present plans and outcomes to executive management.
  • Collaborate across complex organizational frameworks to devise and implement systemic solutions addressing persistent business performance challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field such as industrial systems engineering, supply chain management, finance, or program management.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in contract administration, procurement, or operations, particularly in supply chain or supplier quality roles.
  • Hands-on experience leading supplier recovery processes, conducting CAPA, and performance improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau along with ERP systems.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration abilities; skilled in leading teams without direct authority.
  • Robust project management proficiency with the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including crafting executive summaries and supplier escalation communications.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites as necessary, potentially up to 50% of the time.
