Job description
Job Summary
The Surgical Support Technician plays a crucial role in the surgical team by providing assistance during surgeries and ensuring that all necessary equipment and instruments are prepared and functioning correctly. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Assist surgical teams by passing instruments during surgeries and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Monitor inventory and assist with the ordering of surgical supplies.
- Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments post-operation.
- Help in the positioning of patients and supporting the surgical staff as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in surgical technology or related field preferred.
- Experience in a surgical or healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and their use in various procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
