Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in the healthcare team, providing essential support before, during, and after surgical procedures. This position involves preparing the operating room, ensuring the availability of surgical instruments and supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment to enhance patient safety and care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room and instruments for surgery.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Hand surgical instruments to the surgeon and assist in other tasks as required during the procedure.
- Monitor the patient’s condition throughout the surgery and provide necessary support.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the operating room, adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification from a recognized surgical technologist board is preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
