Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) – OR General Surgery plays a crucial role in supporting the surgical team in providing high-quality care to patients. This position emphasizes maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available during surgical procedures. With a commitment to excellence and patient care, the Surgical Technologist will contribute significantly to the overall success of the surgical team.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and surgical staff during operations by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field to ensure patient safety and reduce the risk of infection.
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure equipment is functional and ready for use.
- Follow protocols for logging and managing surgical instruments and materials.
Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technician program, demonstrating knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or eligibility for certification.
- Proven experience in surgical settings is advantageous.
