Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist for the Mather OR is a crucial member of the surgical team at UH Cleveland Medical Center’s Level 1 facility. Located in Cleveland, Ohio, this position emphasizes the maintenance of a sterile environment, as well as anticipating the needs of both the surgical team and patients. This role plays a significant part in delivering exceptional nursing care to patients and their families, while actively participating in quality improvement processes within the unit.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the surgical environment is sterile and safe at all times.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
- Provide nursing care tailored to the unique requirements of patients and their families.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the department to enhance patient care.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments and supplies.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in a similar role or healthcare setting is advantageous.
