Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room (OR) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate care that significantly impacts patients and their families. This position involves working within a diverse healthcare environment that provides a broad spectrum of medical and surgical services.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist the surgical team by providing necessary instruments and supplies during operations.
- Label and process laboratory specimens accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and registered nurses to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Adhere to strict protocols for infection control and aseptic technique.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
