Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist, specializing in the operating room (OR), plays a crucial role in surgical procedures by providing support to the surgical team. This position, located in Bethesda, Maryland, requires individuals to assist in patient care directly in the OR environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgeries.
- Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Support the surgical team during operations by ensuring that all necessary tools and materials are accessible.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Participate in critical decision-making and respond to the medical needs of patients based on their conditions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
- Experience in an operating room setting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and surgical instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make prompt decisions during surgeries.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with surgeons and nurses effectively.
