Job Summary
The RN Level 4 Labor and Delivery Nurse plays a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients during the childbirth process. This position requires advanced nursing skills and knowledge, enabling the nurse to effectively support mothers and newborns before, during, and after labor. The nurse will be part of a dedicated healthcare team focused on ensuring a safe and positive birthing experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments for pregnant women and monitor fetal conditions.
- Assist in the management of labor, including administering medications and supporting analgesia options.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and midwives to implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and emotional support to expectant mothers and their families.
- Document care provided and monitor patient progress throughout the labor process.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies and changes in patient status, ensuring optimal outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active nursing license with specialization in labor and delivery.
- Significant experience in a labor and delivery setting, preferably at a Level 4 facility.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in managing obstetric patients.
- Excellent communication abilities for effective collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support under stressful conditions.
