Job Summary
The RN Level 4 in Labor and Delivery is a critical role within our healthcare system, entrusted with the comprehensive care of patients during birth and recovery. This position demands a high level of expertise in obstetric nursing, working collaboratively with a dedicated medical team to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and their newborns. The RN will also play a crucial part in educating families and supporting them through the labor process.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to laboring patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor mother and baby during the labor process, interpreting vital signs and fetal heart rates.
- Administer medications and interventions as per physician orders and established protocols.
- Assist in the delivery process, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Offer reassurance and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the entire process.
- Participate in patient education regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of obstetric procedures and best practices in maternal care.
