Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room (OR) is an essential team member dedicated to facilitating surgical procedures. This role involves assisting the surgical team by preparing the operating room, managing surgical instruments, and ensuring the overall safety and efficiency of the surgical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and readily available.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating their needs.
  • Monitor patient safety and adhere to strict protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Handle surgical equipment and instruments with attention to detail, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Support the surgical team with tasks such as sterilizing instruments and maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by a recognized institution.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and anatomy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
