Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for conducting a variety of tasks that are crucial in surgical settings. This role involves collaborating with healthcare providers and patients to ensure effective care delivery throughout surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a sterile environment during surgeries.
- Work closely with surgeons and other medical personnel in the operating room.
- Monitor patient needs and ensure safety and comfort pre- and post-surgery.
- Label and organize surgical supplies for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Relevant certification such as Surgical Tech II or similar qualifications is preferred.
- Eligibility for medical and dental benefits.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and the surgical team.
- Skills in operating necessary medical equipment and technologies.
