Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the General Surgery department plays a pivotal role in ensuring a high standard of patient care within a surgical environment. This position requires national accreditation in Surgical Technology and a Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent recognition. The professional will be actively engaged in facilitating surgical procedures, emphasizing adherence to safety protocols and patient wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Assist in various surgical procedures within the General Surgery department.
- Ensure compliance with the five medication rights to promote patient safety.
- Handle and process surgical specimens appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with the surgical team to maintain an optimal sterile environment.
Qualifications
- Nationally accredited Surgical Technology program completion.
- Current Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of patient care protocols and surgical procedures.
- Prior experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
