Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (OR Tech/Scrub Tech) at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY, is responsible for ensuring safe and high-quality patient care within the operating room. This role demands expertise in maintaining a sterile environment and supporting surgical teams during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical operations to ensure patient safety.
- Assist the surgical team by providing necessary instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Participate in verification processes to uphold safety standards in the operating room.
- Prepare and organize the operating room for upcoming surgeries, ensuring all equipment is functional and ready for use.
- Act as a liaison between surgical staff and patients to facilitate communication and care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and operating room protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff and team members.
