Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in facilitating surgical procedures. This includes preparing the operating room, managing various instruments, and ensuring a sterile environment conducive for surgery. The Surgical Technologist must anticipate the needs of the surgeon to contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of the surgery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Manage surgical instruments and ensure their availability and functionality.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
- Anticipate surgeons’ needs during operations.
- Employ aseptic techniques to uphold patient safety.
- Contribute to the operational efficiency of the surgical team.
Qualifications
- Completion of a military surgical assistant program or a surgical technologist training program.
- LPN training with current Minnesota licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required by the date of hire.
