Job Summary
The Systems Engineering Manager at Boeing is a vital leadership role within the Space Mission Systems (SMS) division, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position focuses on overseeing engineering efforts related to experimental systems, ensuring that projects align with strategic market needs and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical professionals in the development and implementation of systems engineering processes.
- Oversee the design, integration, and verification of complex systems to ensure alignment with program requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Engage in stakeholder management to communicate project status and gather requirements effectively.
- Utilize sound engineering principles to guide the team in problem-solving and technical decision-making.
Qualifications
- Experience in systems engineering, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical teams.
- Formal management experience is preferred, or completion of a Boeing internal management training program.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and business considerations relevant to aerospace engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven track record in delivering technical solutions within budget and schedule constraints.
