Technical Inside Sales Representative – Corrosion Test Equipment

The Technical Inside Sales Representative will act as the main sales contact for our corrosion test chamber offerings. This position is responsible for overseeing the complete sales process, which includes initial customer interaction, quoting, order processing, production tracking, delivery management, and post-sale assistance. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with clients, engineering departments, and production personnel to deliver an exceptional customer experience and ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities of the Technical Inside Sales Representative:
- Enhance sales volume and drive growth for the corrosion test chamber line by nurturing existing accounts and seeking new business opportunities.
- Work in partnership with outside sales representatives and distributors to maximize impact.
- Address incoming customer inquiries via phone and email regarding products, quotations, order status, technical specifications, returns, compliance, billing, and shipping information.
- Create and deliver comprehensive quotations that detail sizing, configuration options, pricing, lead times, shipping conditions, and any special requirements.
- Oversee the full sales order process: entering orders, tracking progress, offering timely updates, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Conduct follow-up activities post-sale to guarantee customer satisfaction and continued support.
- Articulate the technical features, capabilities, and application needs of corrosion test chambers to customers.
- Keep updated on ASTM and industry standards relevant to corrosion testing methodologies.
- Suggest product solutions based on the unique needs of clients and their facilities.
- Provide technical assistance regarding equipment operation, performance metrics, and testing criteria.
- Act as the communication bridge among engineering, production, and customers to ensure timely and clear information exchange.
- Maintain accurate customer data within ERP/CRM systems.
- Secure signed approval drawings for customized equipment and respond to supplier inquiries as necessary.
- Assist in creating marketing materials, sales documents, and updates for the website and social media platforms.
- Compile sales and production reports as required.
- Share insights on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback with management.
Qualifications for the Technical Inside Sales Representative:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in technical sales or as a sales engineer.
- Experience in industrial or technical sales with a strong understanding of mechanical and technical concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP and CRM systems is advantageous.
- Background in corrosion testing, industrial electrical systems, water quality, or knowledge of ASTM and other industry standards.
- Prior experience in providing technical product support or working with laboratory and industrial equipment.
