Training & Development Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for a Training & Development Specialist to aid in the execution, management, and enhancement of training programs within our manufacturing sector. As we introduce a second shift for production, this role is essential in guaranteeing that employees are well-prepared to engage in their roles safely and confidently. The ideal candidate will facilitate various training initiatives, maintain accurate training documentation, evaluate the effectiveness of training efforts, ensure compliance with training standards, and collaborate with operational leaders to enhance workforce capabilities. This position will collaborate closely with the Learning & Development Manager and will report directly to the Sr. Site HR Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead classroom, virtual, and practical training sessions.
  • Provide training on compliance, technical skills, operational procedures, and leadership development.
  • Assist with onboarding processes and workforce development projects.
  • Organize training schedules, manage enrollments, and track attendance and completion.
  • Oversee employee training documentation through a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Assess training participation, completion statistics, feedback, and metrics for effectiveness.
  • Generate reports and dashboards for training compliance and workforce readiness.
  • Support the creation and updating of training resources, lesson plans, and job aids.
  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing to pinpoint training needs.
  • Propose and apply enhancements to training initiatives based on data and feedback from operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-year experience in learning, training, talent development, or a relevant field, or a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related areas, or 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in conducting training programs within a manufacturing or related environment.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and experience in tracking training metrics.
  • Experience in performing training needs assessments.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication capabilities.
  • Skilled in developing training materials, instructional content, and job aids.
  • Understanding of adult learning theories and principles.
  • Ability to analyze training feedback and effectiveness data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.
