Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU position plays a pivotal role within a healthcare setting, focusing on providing specialized care for transplant patients. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of surgical recovery processes, telemetry, and step-down unit protocols. Professionals in this role are integral in monitoring patient conditions, administering medication, and ensuring optimal recovery outcomes in a dynamic clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from transplant surgeries.
- Monitor vital signs and patient status using telemetry equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per physician orders.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and procedural steps.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, ensuring a safe and effective care environment.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license in the relevant state.
- Relevant experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of transplant protocols and nursing care standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
