Job Summary
The Trauma Registrar plays an essential role in the collection, maintenance, and reporting of trauma-related data. This position is vital to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records, thereby supporting the continuous improvement of trauma care. The registrar collaborates with various medical professionals to enhance patient outcomes through quality data management.
Responsibilities
- Collect and verify trauma data from multiple sources, including medical records and other documentation.
- Maintain and update the trauma registry database to ensure accurate information is available for analysis.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders that highlight trauma care trends and outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure compliance with trauma registry guidelines and standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives by providing data analysis and support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in data management, preferably in a healthcare or trauma setting.
- Familiarity with trauma registry standards, including the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD).
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer applications relevant to data management.
