Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technician plays a key role in the healthcare system by utilizing ultrasound equipment to perform imaging procedures. This position requires a focus on patient care and the technical skill to operate diagnostic machines effectively, ensuring accurate and clear imaging results for physicians to interpret.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ultrasound examinations on patients by using ultrasound equipment.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and understand the process.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain the best views for diagnostic purposes.
- Capture and analyze images according to established protocols.
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records of procedures performed.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare personnel to ensure continuity of patient care.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program.
- Certification and registration as an ultrasound technologist through a recognized body.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment with skill and precision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and teamwork.
